The Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA-Hawaii) will present the 19th Annual Home Building & Remodeling Show at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall Friday, January 25 through Sunday, January 27.

Event Chairman Dan Barnett leads over 150 of Hawaii's top contractors, suppliers, building industry experts and associates as they join in one convenient location, under one big roof, for this premier event that offers attendees “The Big Show”.

Special Free educational seminars will showcase the latest trends in building and remodeling and include “How to Save Energy Inside and Outside Your Home”, “The Latest Trends to Create Your Dream Kitchens and Bathrooms”, “What You Need to Know About Elder-Care Awareness” and “How to Make Your House Into an ‘Ohana Home for All”.

Tax Hike Takes Effect July 1st

Higher shipping and construction costs for consumers are just some of the prices already on the rise after a nearly 200 million dollar tax hike law takes effect July 1st. Ron, shipping and building are among industries that will have to pay more when a GE tax exemption gets suspended for two years just weeks from now, and that so far means passing costs on to buyers.
