19th Annual 2013 BIA Home Building & Remodeling Show - Record Breaking Attendance of 26,645

HONOLULU - The 19th Annual BIA Home Building & Remodeling Show, held January 25- 27 at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, generated 26,645 attendees. This is a +16.4% increase over the 2012 show, +7.8% increase over 2007  and the largest attendance in the history of this signature BIA-Hawaii event.

Platinum Sponsor RevoluSun and Silver Sponsor BIA-Hawaii Remodelers presented Hawaii’s top contractors, suppliers, building industry experts and associates. The seminars conducted by industry experts drew hundreds of interested consumers. The most popular exhibitors featured 21 companies offering Solar Technology, Windows, Kitchen & Bathroom renovation contractors and sustainable materials that offered low maintenance and energy savings to homeowners. Exhibitors reported many potential customers and very strong interest by show attendees for information. Consumer attendees were focused, brought lists, took notes, asked specific questions and requested immediate follow up meetings for their home improvement projects.

Karen Nakamura, BIA-Hawaii CEO stated, “I think that our record breaking attendance is a sure sign that confidence is back. Consumers have recovered losses from the stock market, they have been saving money and paying down debt for five years and property values are skyrocketing. People are ready to make home improvements with their home equity lines of credit, invest in energy saving technologies and improve their lifestyles.”

BIA-Hawaii Legislative Day

It's that time of year again! BIA Hawaii is holding its 2013 Legislative Day breakfast on Monday, January 14, two days prior to the Legislature's opening day on January 16.

The purpose of our Legislative Day is to share with our membership our legislative priorities and to provide a brief orientation of the legislative process. Legislators will then be stopping by and it will be a great opportunity to get to know them, especially since there are so many new faces. They will each receive a packet that includes our legislative priorities, so these may be topics of conversation.

BIA-Hawaii Legislative Day
Monday, January 14, 2013
8:00am to 10:30am, Capitol Room 229

Parking is metered under the Capitol, with the entrance off of Miller Street, directly across the Queen's Medical Center, off of Punchbowl Street.
